TPO waterproof membrane, do you know all this?

TPO polymer waterproofing membrane, namely thermoplastic polyolefin waterproofing membrane, is a new type of waterproofing membrane made of petroleum resin, ethylene, acetic acid, and vinyl resin as base materials, with antioxidants, anti-aging agents, softeners, and fabric fibers and aluminum films attached to the surface. Thermoplastic polyolefin is a polymer obtained by polymerizing polypropylene and rubber using the existing polymer production technology.

The solar reflectivity of white TPO membrane is higher than 80%. After three years of outdoor placement in a clean environment, its reflectivity is slightly lower than 80%. TPO membrane also has good resistance to the growth of mold and algae, which will reduce the solar reflectivity, destroy the energy saving effect and aesthetics.

Another new application trend of TPO membrane is "green roof" or "roof garden". The welded TPO membrane is placed loosely and covered with soil and vegetation. The advantage of TPO material in this field is that it has strong resistance to puncture of plant roots. At the same time, there is no chlorine element, heavy metal or harmful ingredients to plant roots, which makes the roof garden more environmentally friendly and has better ecological effect.

TPO waterproof membrane has comprehensive characteristics such as anti-aging, high tensile strength, high elongation, wet roof construction, no need for protective layer for exposure, convenient construction and no pollution. It has the weather resistance and low temperature softness of the former and the weldability of the latter. This material is different from traditional plastics. It shows high elasticity of rubber at room temperature and can be formed like plastic at high temperature.
